Holger Obenaus takes us inside one of Charleston’s favorite jewel boxes.

“Bringing Stories To Life.” That’s the title of a recent article in Charleston Style & Design about the jewelry brand, Pandora — and its iconic reinvention of the charm bracelet. But, that title also happens to be an accurate representation of talented photographers’ work because they do indeed give life to stories through their images.

And, Holger Obenaus did just that with his photos for this piece.

Magpies will gravitate towards his shot of Pandora’s glinting rings, photographed against an ombre-pink backdrop that reflects the feminine yet sophisticated vibe of the brand.

It’s a mood echoed in Pandora’s sleek, local concept store inside the Belmond Charleston Place Hotel, where Holger prioritized showing off the jewel-box surrounds that are at once precious and modern with a bevy of enticing, beautifully lit display cases.

Of course, the star of the show — the charm bracelet and all its personalized uniqueness — is also present and accounted for here. Holger captured the range of intricate charms, including the exclusive Charleston line that features a palmetto, pineapple, sweetgrass basket, Mount Pleasant, the Ravenel Bridge, Isle of Palms, and Folly Beach.

With Pandora’s near infinite collection of charms, oh the stories these bracelets can and do tell in Charleston and beyond.
